 Job objective:  

This role on the PCB Design Team will work closely with the Product Design Engineering Teams build the next generation of Epirus Products.  PCB Layout Engineers are responsible for the design capture, layout and maintenance of the PCB design database.  Layout Engineers will work with design engineers on placement, routing, and packaging constraints.  This role will also work to refine company practices to ensure high quality designs and low risk manufacturability.   

Duties 

  • Work with Engineering Teams to define layer stackup and routing feasibility 
  • Perform routing of Digital, Analog, Power and RF signals 
  • Create and Maintain PCB Component Footprint Library 
  • Produce and Release design documentation for Fabrication and Assembly 
  • Collaborate with Product Design teams and PCB Vendors to update and improve design rules and best practices 
  • Work with PCB Vendors to resolve issues during fabrication process 
  • Work with Packaging Engineers on design placement and form factor 

Required Qualifications 

  • Bachelor's degree in electrical engineering or other technical or science discipline 
  • 5+ Years of PCB Layout experience with Altium Designer in one or all of the following areas 
  • Mixed Signal Analog/Digital Designs 
  • RF Circuits (transmission lines, impedance controlled traces/structures) 
  • Power Electronics (power supplies, DC-DC converters, power traces) 
  • High Speed Digital/SERDES routing 
  • BGA/Fine Pitch and High Density Interconnect (FPGA, DRAM and CPU) 
  • Demonstrated understanding of design for manufacturability, assembly, and test 
  • Familiar with Altium Concord Design Management System 
  • US Citizen (future security clearance may be required) 

Desired Qualifications 

  • Experience with import/export of designs from PADS, Xpedition, ADS, HFSS or other PCB Software
  • Experience with scripting/automation of PCB design tools
  • Good written and oral communication skills
  • Collaborative; capable of working across all levels of the organization
  • Organized and comfortable working in a fast-paced, ever-changing environment

Location

Our company is located in Torrance, just off of the 405. We moved into our new 100,000+ square foot facility in November 2021 and love calling it home.
