A backend web developer within the creative department at Hawke Media must be enthusiastic, passionate and versed in the development of beautiful yet functional websites for our client. A web developer is expected to have to have a solid foundation in HTML/CSS associated languages for the most popular eCommerce languages such as Liquid/Ruby and PHP. The web developer will be able to create custom templates and framework within those platforms easily creating a clean user experience that is fully branded to the clients aesthetic guidelines with the help of a web designer. An ideal candidate will be able to understand the product and problem the client is trying to solve for, providing solutions and leading the conversation in terms of functionality implementations and request.

The back end developer will be proficient at all necessary components of the back end systems within the Vendo cart solution in order to hand off to the front end developer and make a functioning website.

Responsibilities:

• Develop new eCommerce websites on the Shopify & WordPress platforms.
• Modify and update existing sites to implement new features and further improve UI/UX.
• Build, implement, and test new website features.
• Test and optimize sites for desktop, mobile, cross-browser compatibility and SEO.
• Strategize and manage timelines and task management for site launches and updates.
• Ability to multitask and work on multiple projects at the same time. 
• Alter existing templates based on the design direction given.
• Ability to plan for mobile-friendly responsive templates and frameworks

Skills & Experience:

• 5+ years experience in web development.
• Experience in working with .Net framework (Webforms & MVC).
• Experience in working with Microsoft SQL server 2016 and higher.
• Experience in Liquid, jQuery / Javascript, HTML and CSS.
• Experience in AJAX, XML and JSON is strongly preferred.
• Knowledge on VPN Connection (firewall to AWS Infostructure)
• Knowledge and set up of SQL server instance between different servers (specifically AWS)
• Integration with third party order management systems like Order Motion, Moulton and Datapak services -- All third party API Integrations
• Work on setting up Amazon S3 buckets and setup user access policies for different buckets and access rules.
• Integration with payment gateways like PayPal, Authorize.NET, Chase Orbital and EPay.Amazon Pay, Apple Pay etc
• Integration with analytics platform like site catalyst, Google Analytics, Hitslink.
• Integration with A/B testing platform like Adobe Test and Target and Optimizely, Google Optimize and Visual Website Optimizer.
• Integration with different fulfillment house APIs like Order Motion, Moulton Logistics,Order Logix etc.
• Implement improvements shipping and coupon modules to accommodate complex rules and modifications as required.
• Create Console applications to perform scheduled task related to database and api management.
• Manage Cloud servers for company at the hosting provider.
• Establish coding standards for development team and streamlined the development and deployment process.
• Work on Shopify Custom API calls
• Strong understanding HTML and CSS along with other coding languages such as full manipulation of Java, Ruby, PHP, or Liquid
