Gem is a blockchain start-up based in Venice Beach, CA that accelerates the deployment of blockchain solutions for enterprises and industries. Our mission is to link together the world’s business data using GemOS, the enterprise blockchain data exchange and collaboration platform. The Role
Bring blockchain technology to the palm of people’s hands by building a unique and powerful mobile app on top of Gem’s industry leading blockchain platform, GemOS. Gem’s Mobile Developer will love building robust and beautiful mobile applications, will live and breathe bleeding edge technology, and will have strong opinions about best practices.
What you’ll do
- Take charge and lead with your expertise - We are a team of 10 engineers and you will be our first mobile developer, we will look to you for your experience
- Work on features and areas of the mobile app that will impact millions of users
- Write efficient, maintainable code for mobile phones
- Work with Product and Design teams to innovate on existing and new experiences
- Participate in all stages of development including refining product vision, gathering requirements, software system design, coding, testing, release, and support.
What you’ll need
- The experience and know-how of scaling a mobile application to a large user base
- Skills in API design and development
- Expertise in managing mobile release deployments
- Well versed in unit and functional testing, debugging, and performance tuning
- Experience with Java, Objective-C, C#, or C/C++ programming and debugging skills
- Understanding of application architecture and object-oriented designAndroid, iOS, or - Windows Phone development experience, with knowledge of best practices, APIs and libraries
- Experience with commercial software experienceWorking experience with networking and messaging protocols
- Knowledgeable in the following areas: multi-threaded programming, TCP/IP sockets, SQLite
- Must have: Strong passion for technology and thirst to learn, Nice to have: Passion for blockchain and cryptocurrency
- BS in Computer Science or equivalent
