You Aspire To: 

Development flexible and scalable test automation (HW/SW) solutions to support component testing through the engineering, design, and production validation process to ensure reliability goals are met and maintained. This includes working directly with design and manufacturing engineering teams to define tests, develop, and deploy solutions. You will also be responsible for data collection and reporting needed to validate and track product performance over time. This will be a hands-on role, coordinating the development and execution of tests both onsite, offsite, at vendors, and in the field.

What's Essential:

  • BS, MS, or PhD in Engineering
  • Design and develop a flexible and scalable test automation framework (HW/SW) to support component testing through the engineering, design, and production validation process to ensure reliability goals are met and maintained
  • Deliver automated test systems for heliostat production
  • Facilitate data collection and reporting system needed to validate and track product performance over time
  • Define sensor, data acquisition, and database architectures
  • Automate data analysis and test report generation
  • Manage tooling and automation projects from initial concept, to on-line commissioning and proof of rate capability, and hand-off to operational teams
  • Support failure analysis to understand root cause and drive resolution of failures occurring during product development, production, and in the field
  • Work and adapt towards schedules and budgets to ensure project success
  • Develop and manufacture test equipment/apparatus to facilitate testing
  • Define and deploy in-field sample monitoring program
  • Ability to coordinate and execute laboratory and environmental tests

What's Desirable:

  • Demonstrated experience with design and production of electromechanical systems in commercial markets such as automotive, health care, or aerospace
  • Demonstrated experience with design and implementation of R&D and high volume automated test equipment
  • Demonstrated ability to program automated tooling using languages, such as Beckhoff or Siemens PLC, C#, MSSQL, LabVIEW, and or Python
  • Working knowledge of multiple bus architectures (PCI/PCIe, PXI/PXIe, GPIB, Serial, USB, TCP/IP, etc.) and data communication technologies
  • Working knowledge of measurement techniques for temperature, pressure, flow, and the application strain gages are also highly desired
  • Understanding of metrology, sources of measurement error, and uncertainty analysis
  • Demonstrated experience with design and manufacture of electrical test harnesses
  • Ability to perform manufacturing test data analysis to determine pass/fail and in-family as well as root cause anomalies
