Job Description:

Honey is a fast-growing company based in Los Angeles, and we’ve recently joined the PayPal family to help supercharge our mission of creating fairness and value for everyone. We’ve built a community of over 20 million online shoppers and use the collective insights of our members to power an online shopping platform that allows everyone to shop smarter, together. With that, we are excited to say we’re hiring! We are actively seeking an Engineering Manager for the Site Reliability and Chaos Engineering teams.

 

This team focuses on managing and maintaining some of Honey's core infrastructure and build tooling, advising on cloud architecture, monitoring, incident management, and containerization best practices, as well as helping maintain build and deployment pipelines. As the manager of this team, you'll oversee projects in lots of areas, including multi-regional deployments and service meshes. You can expect to work very collaboratively with other software engineering teams within Honey and across the greater PayPal organization. Your contribution will help us maintain a high degree of autonomy and empowerment for developers, while helping to improve reliability, observability, and stability.

In this role, you'll:

  • Build, manage, mentor, and coach a team of highly-skilled Software Engineers.

  • Recognize or create career growth opportunities that align with business and organizational needs.

  • Actively participate in engineering resource management, including recruitment of top-talent.

  • Instill strong Software Engineering best-practice and Operational Excellence for your team.

  • Help develop long-term product, business and technology strategies.

  • Represent the engineering organization and evangelize the work to leadership.

 

Bonus Points For: 

  • Experience with chaos engineering and related disciplines 

  • Experience with Golang 

  • Previous experience with GCP 

  • Experience with service discovery or service meshes
