About the job:

The Lead Test Engineer works on the Connected Vehicle team who's entrusted with delivering a world class user experience both inside and outside of the vehicle. It is the responsibility of the Lead Test Engineer to ensure that the released software meets all of the business & product goals are being met.

Who are you?

You enjoy making developers cry. You have a deep desire to find all of the bugs. Automation is at the core of your operation as efficiency is the key. You know that with efficiency comes more coverage and with more coverage, more bugs – cue the crying. You also understand what it takes to build up systems, processes and team to provide consistent evaluations of the software quality. No stone goes unturned as you work closely with our engineers to test interfaces, APIs, and ECU application code. You are familiar with running a tight software test and release process and know the tools of the trade to get the job done. At the end of the day, you take pride in the software that leaves because you know that it has passed the test, your test.

Responsibilities:

  • Architect and build a framework for testing the connected vehicle system including mobile and cloud
  • Create test plans that ensure the product goals and business requirements are being met
  • Build-up test capabilities of the group - tools, team, processes
  • Ensure on-time delivery of the software by planning test activities that meet the goals of the program.
  • Proliferate the results of the testing activities to make sure that the team and company are aware of findings, progress, etc.

Qualifications:

  • Minimum of 5 years of experience with testing complex systems
  • Extremely knowledgeable with communication protocols and how to test them
  • Deep understanding with test automation – tools, setup, CI/CD
  • Experience with testing products with embedded, mobile and cloud elements
  • Experience with building test capabilities in an organization
  • Experience with test plan creation & requirements development
  • Ability to plan activities and function independently on a day-to-day basis
  • Able to collaborate with others in the team/organization to get things done
  • Bonus points for Automotive Experience & Knowledge of Automotive Technologies
