Now is the time to put together the team that will take this company from a proof of concept to the next NewsCorp. To do it, we need your help. As one of our first hires, you’ll have a huge say in the direction of this product and future products. You'll get equity and the chance to help build a world-class engineering organization from the ground up. This is a unique opportunity for an exceptionally smart, experienced, and motivated engineer that loves overcoming obstacles and learning new things.

Responsibilities:

- Lead development and maintenance of Happs News apps for iOS and Android
- Establish and maintain a high code-quality standard through best practices such as code reviews and automated testing
- Interface with an external development team and remote team members
- Provide architecture and development guidance for new features and improvements to the existing codebase
- Provide guidance for less experienced team members

Must have:

- Strong experience with Swift or Kotlin
- Strong experience with iOS and Android frameworks and patterns
- Delivered and maintained iOS and Android apps in the past
- Knowledge of Git, continuous integration, and delivery to app stores
- Ability to work independently and with a small but growing team to architect and build out features and improvements

Nice to have:

- Experience with live video streaming
- Experience with real-time chat
- Experience with Firebase
