As a Lead Software Engineer - Infrastructure, you will lead a team of engineers to design, develop, test, and deploy our cloud-based infrastructure and services that support Tinder engineering teams to scale their applications that serve millions of users worldwide. This will entail ensuring high availability on both production and pre-production systems, while pushing teams towards true continuous delivery pipelines. A successful candidate will have strong technical skills, excellent project management skills, great communication skills, and a motivation to achieve results in a fast paced environment.

In this Lead Software Engineer role, you will:

• Work closely with engineering and product leadership to prioritize initiatives to deliver the greatest value to the business
• Drive architectural decisions, build and scale the infrastructure and cloud services with ECS/Kubernetes and docker to serve hundreds of millions of users around the world
• Perform advanced troubleshooting and monitoring of the systems to ensure SLAs are met
• Influence the roadmap and product development of Tinder App and services
• Recruit, inspire, and build a high-performance team

We’re looking for:

• Strong desire to learn about our infrastructure and technologies
• BS/MS in Computer Science or equivalent
• 3 years professional infrastructure experience post education
• 3 years of hands-on technical leadership and people management experience.
• Solid foundation in computer science fundamentals and software engineering best practices
• Expertise building cloud infrastructure, service, deployment and monitoring
• Experience with maintaining the stability and performance of the cloud platform
• Experience with one or more general purpose programming languages including but not limited to: Java, Scala, Python, JavaScript, Bash, or Go

Bonus points if you have:

• Experience with deployment and maintenance of NoSQL solutions, such as Cassandra or MongoDB
• Experience with deployment and maintenance of Redis, ElasticSearch, Kafka, and Spark
• Experience with Docker containers along with Kubernetes
• Hands-on experience and in-depth knowledge of continuous delivery tools
• Experience evaluating and using open source solutions that fit business needs
