Lead Full-Stack Software Engineer

Walkboard Technologies LLC is a start-up operating in the $16B+ household goods moving industry. We are seeking motivated people to join our growing team in Los Angeles, CA (West LA).  We are building a software platform powerful enough to transform the industry by empowering service providers and connecting them with shippers in the most transparent, customer-centric way.

This is an excellent and rare opportunity to join a product-oriented executive team at a well-funded technical startup (closed seed round in Q4 2019) as one of the first ten employees.  Reporting directly to the CEO, you will have the opportunity to lead and build the engineering organization while dictating the technologies that power our platform. You will be instrumental in leading the charge in modernizing an industry and marketplace while helping the businesses of moving industry laborers and drivers and giving customers the best possible experience.  

This position involves:

• Product development in Python/Django and React with DevOps on the AWS suite for a household goods moving/transportation web and mobile platform.

• Integrations between our product and third-party APIs

• System architecture design, implementation and testing across products and platforms.

• Working in an agile shop with attention to a well-documented code, unit testing and continuous integration while collaborating with product owners to help prioritize and plan sprints

• Ability to convert wireframes/mockups/user stories to technical specifications and clear and clean code

• Being willing and able to mentor, coach and train colleagues as technical expert

Required skill sets:

• Web AND Mobile application (cross platform) development, preferably on React and React Native

• Expert level full-stack developer (Python, Postgres, DevOps on AWS a plus)

• Obsession for documentation, quality and testing 

• Regularly stay informed of and are willing to learn new technologies and frameworks
