We're actively seeking a Lead Engineer to focus on building amazing new Honey powered experiences for Honey and PayPal users!
About the Team:

Your main focus will be guiding a team of talented engineers as they develop a non-intrusive way to understand user's journeys through merchant checkout flows.
We use NodeJS and React, Docker, Kubernetes and Google Cloud Platform. We love Typescript, solid testing and team spirit.
About the Role:
As a leader within the Honey Checkout organization, we'll count on you to ensure your group delivers quality code in a timely manner.
You'll spend time coding, designing architecture and systems, coaching and mentoring, and working with other engineers to make sure the team is functioning smoothly.
What You'll Do:
As a Senior Engineer at Honey, you will:

  • Build back end services using NodeJS (and sometimes Go or Python), Docker and Kubernetes
  • Build front end features using React
  • Write comprehensive unit and integration tests for your production code
  • Brainstorm solutions with other engineers
  • Mentor and coach other engineers on the team
  • Collaborate with other Honey and PayPal teams to organize work on dependencies

About You:

  • 7+ years professional experience as a software engineer
  • Strong communicator - you can explain technical things to non-technical people, in speech and in writing
  • Excited to learn, and to teach
  • Experience with at least one front end framework, ie React, Angular, Vue
  • Experience with at least one back end framework, ie Rails, Django, NestJS

Nice-to-Have Qualifications:

  • SQL
  • GraphQL

At Honey, we are committed to building a diverse and inclusive company. We seek to create a culture where everyone can belong because we believe that people do their best work when they can show up every day as their authentic selves. We welcome people of different backgrounds, experiences, abilities, and perspectives.
