We're looking for a smart and talented Junior Back End Developer to join our small, but growing Engineering team. We have some exciting projects on our Roadmap, so we need someone to help us turn ideas and sketches into user-friendly and powerful tools for our customers.

The position is full-time and based in our corporate office on San Vicente in West Hollywood, CA. Currently, we’re all working remote.

Top candidates will have these skills:

· 1 - 3 years of experience in backend development using PHP and MySQL.

· Experience with PHP-based frameworks, especially Laravel.

· Experience writing and maintaining user-facing APIs.

· Experience working with and consuming third-party APIs.

· Experience working with a team of developers and the tooling that entails – Git, Slack, Jira, etc.

· Experience with performance and optimization problems and an ability to diagnose and prevent these problems.

· Comfortable with writing, editing, and maintaining Unit/Feature tests.

· Familiarity with a version control software (we use GitHub and Sourcetree).

· Familiarity with tools such as Composer, AWS, and Jenkins.

· Ability to work in an Agile environment. We generally run two-week sprints to keep things organized and moving along. The ideal candidate will be able to thrive in this type of environment.

· Excellent communication skills – in addition to expressing your ideas internally, you may also be asked to jump on conference calls with customers.

· Strong desire to learn new skills and improve existing ones.
