Instructions for Continued Airworthiness (ICA) Systems Engineering ManagerCompany:The Boeing CompanyJob ID:00000279735Date Posted:2021-10-18-07:00Location:USA - Seal Beach, CAJob Description Qualifications: Boeing Commercial Airplanes (BCA) Customer Support team is looking for a Systems Engineering Manager to lead the Instructions for Continued Airworthiness (ICA) team and the In-Service Chief Mechanics Office (CMO). This position will report to the Senior Manager of Aircraft Maintenance Engineering and Director, Maintenance Engineering.The position represents BCA Customer Support in varied commercial production and retrofit program teams, including enterprise strategy discussions. The position is responsible for executing key regulatory engagement & influence cross-functional strategies to meet Boeing's business goals and objectives. The position will lead and manage employees performing activities within multiple (2 or more) engineering and maintenance disciplines.The ideal candidate will be knowledgeable about workforce management, talent management, technical excellence and have outstanding leadership, technical, management, systems thinking and communication skills, with demonstrated experience working with program, capability, function and human resources management at all levels.This position is located in Seal Beach, California.Position Responsibilities:

  • Develops and executes project and process plans, implements policies and procedures and sets operational goals.
  • Manages, develops and motivates employees.
  • Provides oversight and approval of technical approaches, products and processes.
  • Develops and maintains relationships and partnerships with customers, stakeholders, peers, partners and direct reports.
  • Developing and fostering relationships with regulatory agencies (specifically the Aircraft Evaluation Division (AED) of the FAA) and airline customers (where appropriate), including leaders of the various divisions (Certification, Airworthiness, Flight Standards, etc.), in partnership with Engineering, Product & Services Safety, Boeing Commercial Airplanes, Boeing Global Services, and Government Operations.
  • Working with our Customers, Airplane Programs Engineering teams and Customer Support teams to ensure in-service risks have mitigating actions and plans for rapid resolution.
  • Supporting the Fleet Offices and Airplane Program Engineering teams to ensure significant technical, maintenance operations and potential safety issues with in-service impact are understood and mitigation plans are created and executed.
  • In the above, ensure integration with the enterprise SMS and Global Aviation Safety Initiatives for both ICA and CMO.

The position must meet Export Control compliance requirements, therefore a "US Person" as defined by 22 C.F.R. § 120.15 is required. "US Person" includes US Citizen, lawful permanent resident, refugee, or asylee.Basic Qualifications (Required Skills/Experience):

  • Education/experience through advanced technical education from an accredited course of study in engineering, computer science, mathematics, physics or chemistry.

Preferred Qualifications (Desired Skills/Experience):

  • 2 or more years' related work experience or an equivalent combination of technical education and experience (e.g. Master).
  • ABET accreditation is the preferred.
