You Aspire To: 

Make rock-solid, high-quality infrastructure for our heliostat field control system installations. 

• Analyze, set, and understand performance requirements for the network and computers controlling our cameras and the heliostat field 
• Select and size network and computer components for Heliogen’s test and  customer fields
• Measure and monitor compute and network performance 
• Develop tests to ensure highly reliable systems even in the presence of significant disruptions, including redundancy and failover of hardware and software  

What's Essential:

• Bachelor's degree in an engineering discipline, physics, or computer science  
• 2+years’ experience of software engineering
• C#, C++, .NET, Python and/or database experience  

Desirable Experience:

• Ability to function flexibly within a software team, with good organizational skills and ability to prioritize, plan and execute with a high degree of independence 
• Experience in PostgreSQL administration and optimization 
• Experience in async network programming and network traffic monitoring and optimization 
• Experience in software system performance monitoring and optimization 
• Experience with specifying and load-testing high-availability computing/networking hardware 
• Designing and operating systems with redundant hardware and software 
• Excellent communication skills both written and verbal 
• Experience in fast-paced iterative design 
• Experience solving complex problems with little to no supervision on schedule as an individual or as a member of an integrated team 
• GitLab experience or similar source control tooling - both general usage and understanding of CI/CD processes.
