We are seeking a master or PhD-level candidate to work on the next generation of image processing engineer with minimum 5 years of experiences for our consumer smart security products such as smart doorbell and cameras. Ring is known by one of the top home security products with unique concept for outdoor security video doorbells and cameras.

As an Image processing engineer, you will drive research, review and development to enable our smart security products with top notch image/video quality development and managements. Individuals in this role are expected to be experts at solving analytical problems using image sensor level, lens design/selection, and other sensor related problems with research, design, selection and optimization.

Ideal candidates will have strong familiarity with real-time image processing and embedded or server level image/video processing pipelines. You should have a working knowledge of sensor metric, lens design, visible/IR spectrum data. Following experiences are helpful to do the roll including h.264/h.265 compression standard as well as live streaming standard such as RTP over UDP and WebRTC

Required Qualifications

• MS/PhD in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, or equivalent field of study
• Deep understanding about camera and video parameters and its enhancement methods
• 5+ years of experience designing, implementing, and tuning camera system
• Familiarity with embedded hardware developments / challenges
• Image tuning and video streaming quality control experiences
• Understanding of physics of Image sensor and lens design issues

Desired Qualifications

• Experience with Embedded design aspects for low power design
• Experience with alternative sensors (IR, SONAR, etc.)
• Deep interest / experience in security products
• Experiences of video compression standards(H.264/265)
