About the role

The Head of QA will have ownership of QA environments across all of Albert's products. You’ll also take responsibility for ensuring all development tasks meet quality criteria through test planning, test execution, quality assurance, and issue tracking. This role requires strategic thinking and planning throughout the entire product development life cycle — with a strong sense of quality ownership.

Responsibilites

  • Define the QA strategy, approach, and execution in development projects.
  • Provide leadership and technical expertise within manual testing, test automation, and quality assurance.
  • Mentor and lead QA automation developers and managers and take responsibility for test automation projects.
  • provide technical leadership and expertise within the field of quality assurance and testing.
  • Ensure the development teams adhere to the principles, guidelines, and best practices of the QA strategy.
  • Focus on continuous QA improvements, including usage of appropriate testing tools, manual testing techniques, and test automation.
  • Build, document, maintain, and enforce our quality standardsMonitor of all the QA activities, test results, leaked defects, and root cause analysis. Identify areas of improvement and implement steps required to improve the processes.
  • Gather and present testing metrics and testing activities for the projects to key stakeholders.
  • Ensure the proper usage of available tools to gain the maximum benefit of the QA effort. This includes testing tools for functionality, performance, automation, etc.
  • Be an escalation point for all matters related to testing and quality assurance and operate as a primary point of contact for the QA.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree
  • Experience leading QA or software product development teams.8+ years of QA or software development on revenue-generating systems and applications with a record of success — preferably focused on mobile applications.
  • Strong leadership skills, including the ability to motivate people, instill accountability, perform under pressure, and optimize the team's resources to attain business goals.
  • Excellent knowledge of new technology trends and their applications for new products in the marketplace.
  • Excellent knowledge of QA and software engineering discipline, including hands-on knowledge of testing techniques, automation options, risk management, and basic system engineering.
  • Strong verbal, presentation, and written communication skills for technical and non-technical audiences.
  • Keen eye for catching developer code and UI/UX issues.
