We are currently seeking a Head of Engineering to own all technical operations and development, as well as oversee and help build out our internal engineering team.  Ideally this individual will be architecturally-minded and will have a strong understanding of full-stack development within an e-commerce environment. Our Head of Engineering will be heavily involved in product-focused decisions for the business, and will be a critical leader as we continue to scale and add new features to our membership - providing technical expertise in regard to all product deliverables.  Along with their team, they will be tasked with fulfilling and maintaining future product offerings that will have an immense impact on not only the growth of the business, but more importantly the value we provide to our members.

Who you are:

• A motivating and inspiring leader, who takes pride in building and mentoring a team
• Strong full-stack engineering ability, ideally with experience in an e-commerce environment (PHP, Javascript frameworks, etc.)
• Possess an understanding of e-commerce systems architecture and server load optimization
• Superior problem-solving skills, action-oriented, and decisive
• Excited to jump into a startup environment, with full technical ownership and the opportunity to build out your own team

What you’ll contribute:

• Lead, mentor, and help build out our internal engineering team
• Fulfill new features and expand our current membership product offerings
• Provide technical expertise and guidance for our overall product roadmap, in regard to timelines, deliverables, cost/benefit analysis, etc
• Establish and maintain a culture of high-productivity
• Partner closely with leadership and develop cross-functional relationships within the business, to optimize product deliverable timelines
• Full ownership of our tech stack and decision-making in regard to technical operations

Qualifications:

• B.A./B.S. in Computer Science or Engineering
• 6+ years of relevant engineering experience
• 3+ years of experience managing a team of engineers
• Prior experience hiring cross-functional engineering/technical teams
• Proven experience engineering resilient e-commerce systems for scale
• Previous experience with active involvement in setting and executing product strategy
