Ring is looking for a Hardware Safety Specialist to join the Product Safety and Compliance team based in our Santa Monica Headquarters, supporting the global Product Safety and Compliance Program which ensures the safety and compliance of Ring's product selection. The Product Safety and Compliance Program is our primary program to design and enforce Ring product compliance policies and manage the safety and compliance risks. 

Responsibilities

• Serve as liaison between Customer Support and Hardware Engineering teams
• Accurately and efficiently maintain Trouble Ticket system
• Communicate with internal engineering teams.
• Communicate with customer facing safety escalation team.
• Track trends seen in returned product and customer reports.
• Communicate with outside laboratories and consultancies

Basic Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree Electrical Engineering
• 2 + years’ experience with consumer electronic product development

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience reading and creating electrical engineering control documents such as schematics and PCB layouts.
• Experience debugging complex electro-mechanical devices.
• Demonstrated knowledge of failure analysis processes
• Experience managing CAD databases, mechanical engineering drawings, and BOM information
• Ability to effectively write technical documents
• Proficiency with customer relationship management software
• Technical fluency; comfort understanding and discussing technology concepts, experience evaluating trade-offs and new opportunities with technical team members
• Proven ability to identify, analyze, and solve ambiguous problems independently with an extreme attention to detail
• Demonstrated ability to influence stakeholders successfully without formal authority and lead cross-functional teams across geographies and business units
