With that, we are excited to say we’re hiring! We are actively seeking a Fullstack Engineer to join our Store Experience Team in Los Angeles, CA.

     

    Job Description:

    About the team:

     

    We’re looking for a Fullstack Engineer to join Honey. This person will focus on the shopping destinations and stores across the Honey platform. You'll own a complete product feature area and develop an end to end solution that is deployed into our production system. You can expect to work with a cross disciplinary team including frontend engineers, backend engineers, quality assurance, data analysts , designers and product management to enhance existing product features and build new ones. Your contribution will help enhance the experience in which our users are notified about potential savings on relevant stores and merchants. 

     

    About You: 

     

    If you’re on the fence about whether you meet all of the requirements for this role, please apply! 

    • Experience with React (or similar eg. Angular, Vue) along with HTML & CSS 

    • Experience with state management systems like Redux/Mobx 

    • Experience building Node.js applications and GraphQL 

    • You use a modern version-control system for your source code repository (Git, Mercurial, GitHub, BitBucket) 

    • You know what parts of your code require tests and you write those tests 

    • You know how to use a framework to create robust and reliable HTTP-based APIs 

    • You are willing and able to deploy, troubleshoot, and maintain your systems in production 

    • Comfortable building and developing infrastructure in the cloud; we use GCP 

    • Optimization for SEO and User Experience 

    • Use best practices to build out reusable components 
       

    In this role, you’ll: 

    • Design and maintain front end applications for exposing insights from machine learning and data science models. 

    • You lint all your code or know you should 

    • Design, build and operate Honey’s APIs with a focus on performance and reliability. 

    • You build modern, resilient and operationally sane backend systems exemplifying industry standards (HTTP REST, GraphQL, Steam processing, Big Data) 

    • You use strong, objective judgement in leveraging the right frameworks and technologies 

    • Architect, design, write, review, and test code in a collaborative environment with other software engineers. 

    • Leverage your peers as multipliers for your skills to create excellent products and services for Honey’s millions of users. 

    • You plan for, built, evolve and scrutinize monitoring and alerting for your production systems 

    • You are willing and able to deploy, troubleshoot, and maintain your systems in production and staging environments  

     

    Bonus Points for: 

    • Knowing about continuous integration systems like Travis, Jenkins, or CircleCI (we use Circle). 

    • Experience with GraphQL, GraphQL Federation, REST APIs and supporting network protocols 

    • Experience with a distributed SQL platform like CockroachDB or Google Spanner 

    • Experience with Hadoop, MapReduce, or other “Big Data” systems
