Honey is a fast-growing startup based in Los Angeles. Our online shopping platform offers users a smarter way to shop. Through a simple browser extension, we open up instant access to exclusive savings, deals, rewards and discovery, all powered by the collective knowledge of Honey’s community of online shoppers. We are helping millions save when they shop online, and we're hiring! We are actively seeking a Fullstack Engineer to focus on the Tips team.

We’ve got a small but tight knit team filled with cross functional and amazing people. As a member of Tips you will be at the bleeding edge of our customer facing interfaces and building backend services that will scale to our user base of over 20 million users! You will leverage several technologies such as React, NodeJS, Google’s suite of storage options (Spanner/Cloud Storage/Big Query), and Analytical clickstream data. On the backends we run a microservices architecture using Docker and Kubernetes. On the front ends we primarily live in our cornerstone product of the extension. You can expect to work with a diverse set of critical teams such as the Extension, Droplist, Offers, and Honey Pay. Your contribution will impact how we ensure that Honey is the better way to buy, by providing high impact information when our users are making their purchasing decisions. Overall on the engineering team, we value a can-do attitude, collaboration, learning, and curiosity.

As a full stack engineer you will be expected to develop solutions on both the front and back ends. The back end is in its infancy for the Tips team so one of the main drivers for this role will be to help work with the team and infrastructure already in place to handle the load and throughput of our user base. You will be building microservices to build data sets for loading new and exciting tips to our front end. You will also be responsible for updating and improving our existing user interfaces to better serve our users. You will be interacting with a cross functional team which includes Product Managers, Analysts, Designers, and obviously other engineers both on the team and organization wide.

As a Fullstack Engineer at Honey, you will:

  • Build amazing front ends leveraging React
  • Implement analytic data events on features you or the team builds
  • Build Unit tests for your code

Nice-to-Have Qualifications:

  • GraphQL and Apollo
  • Test automation and test-driven development experience

At Honey, we are committed to building a diverse and inclusive company.
