We’re looking for a senior level, hands-on contributor who loves to create beautiful user interfaces, elegant technical solutions and drive results. We expect you to be product-focused, understanding the broader context and ensuring that stable and effective code is released to solve real business and customer needs. You'll be building web components, capabilities in our React Native mobile app, and backend solutions - whatever strikes your fancy each sprint. Use what you know and build your skillset with the latest tech.

What we’re looking for:

• Someone with a BS/MS in Computer Science and/or equivalent is a plus, but you should have at least a minimum of 5-7 years of hands-on technical experience in architecting and building mobile & web applications with high-volume application development

• Exceptional expertise in relational databases and schema design with MySQL and Postgres where experience with NodeJS is a plus

• Significant experience designing REST API’s or GraphQL API’s and in scaling and designing systems

• Strong analytical thinking with experience in making engineering decisions based on data and best practices. Ability to communicate and collaborate with various functional teams on the expansion of our backend platform

• Experience in handling ambiguous business requirements with excellent prioritization, time management abilities, and a focus on execution

• Advanced knowledge of Javascript with a passion to solve complex problems and make continuous improvements (We are not looking for specific experience with our tech stack - just the willingness and sufficient experience (with an equivalent stack) to pick it up fast)

• Strong communication skills and great product sensibilities who can recruit, inspire and develop our team and elevate their skill sets

• Machine learning / computer vision experience a bonus, but curiosity around this tech is a must as we will be embedding more ML into our products over the mid to long-term

What you will be doing:

• Help shape our backend platform application development and support with high scalability, availability, and maintainability in mind

• Build beautiful, effective user interfaces in our React-based web application

• Build, integrate and performance-tune a high-volume API application

• Implement new features and optimizations in our React Native mobile apps

• Develop our server-side GraphQL queries and mutations in Node.js / PostgreSQL

• Pull request reviews and team mentoring

• Provide best practices: design patterns, unit testing, CI/CD

• Collect feedback and generate new product feature ideas

Bonus point if you have:

• Experience in designing and building user services and auth services

• Experience with cloud computing systems such as AWS, Azure or Google Cloud Platform

• Experience with Machine Learning, TensorFlow, Redis, ElasticSearch, Kafka, and Spark

• Experience with Agile development methodology and CI/CD

• Experience with Docker containers along with Kubernetes or ECS
