We are looking for a Senior Front-End Web Developer for a full-time role who is motivated to take our web application’s user experience to the next level. This role will report to the Director of Engineering and be a key member of the development team but will work closely with the UX Designer and Product team. As the first front-end developer on a team of full-stack developers, this individual will take ownership of the front-end code, defining style guides and coding standards, selecting tooling, etc. You will also work with the UI/UX designer to bridge the gap between graphical design and technical implementation, taking an active role on both sides and defining how the application looks as well as how it works.
ResponsibilitiesDevelop new user-facing features, and re-engineer/optimize existing ones
Build reusable code and components for future use
Ensure the technical feasibility of UI/UX designs
Optimize application for maximum speed and scalability
Collaborate with other team members and stakeholders
Code review front-end code written by full-stack developers
3+ years minimum of post-education experience as a front-end developer working with ES6, HTML5, CSS3 (including CSS preprocessors), and JavaScript
2+ years professional experience with JavaScript frameworks/libraries like Angular or React
Proficient understanding of code versioning tools, such as Git
Proven track record in managing towards timelines
Experience working in an Agile/Scrum development process
Experience working with a SaaS product with dozens or hundreds of pages
Basic knowledge of image authoring tools, to be able to crop, resize, or perform small adjustments on an image. Familiarity with tools such as Gimp or Photoshop is a plus.
Detail-oriented and organized
Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science preferred
