Job Description

The Boeing Company is seeking an Experienced Systems / Software Engineer (Level 4) for a proprietary ground system program within our Space & Launch group located in El Segundo, California. Tasking includes full life-cycle development, requirements/interface definition and analysis, model based systems engineering artifact development, risk/issue/opportunity management, and integration & test in a collaborative Agile environment. Assist in execution and test of the concepts and associated development.

This position offers relocation based on candidate eligibility. (Basic relocation is available for internal candidates, based on candidate eligibility.)

Primary Responsibilities

  • Defines, schedules, and assigns tasks, and monitors completion to validate system-of-systems concepts, system concepts and subsystem concepts by inspection, analysis, test, and demonstration to assure that the system architecture and design concepts satisfy the intent of the customer requirements.

  • Defining, scheduling, and assigning tasks, and monitoring completion to lead the monitoring of integration and checkout activities, receiving and evaluating of results of activities, and approving/disapproving of each by determining whether results meet the checkout requirements, so that integration activities can proceed.

  • Coordinates resolution of disapproved integration and checkout results by documenting and reporting reasons for disapproval to resolve anomalies. Leads the above for highly complex or broad scope programs.

  • Managing, monitoring, and reporting the progress and status of integration, checkout, and verification activities and anomaly resolutions by directing and reviewing these activities to assure integration validity and to enable meeting the program schedule.

This position requires an active/current U.S. Security Clearance with a Single Scope Background Investigation (SSBI) that has been successfully completed within the last 5 years. (A U.S. Security Clearance that has been active in the past 24 months is considered active).

Basic (Required) Qualification

  • Bachelor’s Degree or higher in Engineering or Technical field.
  • Experience in software development is required.

Preferred (Desired) Qualifications

  • A background in software requirements is preferred.
  • Familiarity with telemetry and command processing is desired.
