Boeing Defense, Space, and Security (BDS) is seeking an experienced Systems Engineer – Proprietary Programs (Level 3) for Seal Beach, CA. The selected candidate will work for this dynamic Boeing program, you will join a highly collaborative, close-knit multi-disciplinary team. 

Position Responsibilities:

  • Work closely with other engineering disciplines in an integrated team environment to develop CONOPs and interface definitions

  • Support stakeholder needs analysis, technical measure definition, requirements analysis, and allocation & definition for subcontractors, utilizing  JIRA and Confluence

  • Support agile development meetings to become a technical focal point for communication to Boeing domain experts

  • Assist in build content reviews for both agile and formal software deliveries

  • Support coordination of integrated testing requiring strategic functional implementation to support validation and other type of events

  • Apply your experience in systems computer engineering principles to solve relevant aerospace issues

  • Solid understanding of software development life cycle models as well as experience knowledge of both Agile and traditional project management principles and practices and the ability to blend them together in the right proportions to fit a project and business environment

  • A proven track record of successfully implementing software or web development projects using Agile methodologies

  • Prior experience with SCRUM/Agile methodologies with enterprise-level application development projects

  • Ability to provide leadership to small and/or medium size Agile teams with multiple integrated skillsets including system, software, database, network and infrastructure development engineers

  • Ability to integrate and troubleshoot system/software integration environment

  • Utilize excellent teamwork and written/oral English communications skills

This position requires ability to complete a Single Scope Background Investigation (SSBI) US Citizenship Required.  Final investigation is required Pre-Start.

Basic Qualifications (Required Skills/Qualifications):

  • Bachelor's Degree in Engineering or Technical field is required.

  • Experience with standard systems engineering practices (requirements definition, risk identification and management, fault tree generation, FMECA, etc.).

Preferred Qualifications (Desired Skills/Experience):

  • Experience developing complex human-in-the-loop systems.

  • Experience in software architecture and software implementation.

  • Experience in Computer Engineering disciplines with network engineering background or interface SW application.

  • Familiarity with Java, Python, C/C++

  • Experience with containerized software and deployment.

  • Experience with both waterfall and agile software development.

  • Technical background in user interface design, autonomous systems, human-computer interaction, and/or machine learning.

  • A current Single Scope Background Investigation (SSBI)

Typical Education/Experience:

Education/experience typically acquired through advanced technical education from an accredited course of study in engineering, computer science, mathematics, physics or chemistry (e.g. Bachelor) and typically 5 or more years' related work experience or an equivalent combination of technical education and experience (e.g. PhD, Master+3 years' related work experience). In the USA, ABET accreditation is the preferred, although not required, accreditation standard.
