What You'll Do:

  • Lead the firmware development of various vehicle components included Power Control Module, Motor Controller, and Battery Management Systems.
  • Work with electrical/electronics engineers, to develop these systems.
  • Aid in the development, validation and enhancements of various power electronic products for electric vehicles.
  • Develop firmware installation and QC processes for new products.
  • Tune motor behavior and BMS strategies and verify operational efficiencies.

What You'll Need:

  • Experience developing firmware for motor controllers, battery management systems or similar.
  • Strong experience and proficiency in embedded languages, particularly with C.
  • Experience with firmware development, testing, and debugging.
  • Experience with CANbus, UART, I2C, and SPI communications.
  • Experience in motor controls development, particularly Brushless DC motors.
  • Solid understanding of electromechanical systems
  • Experience in power electronics development and manufacturing.
  • Knowledge of mechanical systems and components.
  • Knowledge of PCB design, using schematic capture and layout tools. Altium preferred.
  • Knowledge of version control tools (GIT, SVN, or the like)

Bonus Qualifications:

  • Experience with motor commutation and tuning strategies.
  • Experience with Firmware Over The Air (FOTA)process
  • Experience developing bootloaders and programming over CAN
  • Experience with ST micro-controllers
