About This Role 

At Apeel Sciences, we look to nature to help the global food system improve quality, reduce waste, and ensure an abundant future for our planet. The Engineering team is responsible for bringing our amazing innovations from the R&D labs to customers by designing and developing equipment, machineries, hardware, and software-based tools. We are seeking a skilled Electrical Engineering Associate to help take our manufacturing capabilities to the next level by fabricating and assembling various pieces of processing equipment. You will work alongside our team of engineers and scientists to build first generation prototype units as well as low volume production units.

What You’ll Do

  • Read electrical drawings and blueprints and build prototypes and low volume production units
  • Select and procure electrical components
  • Install and maintain wiring for controllers, various sensors, pumps, blowers, control valves, transformers, etc.
  • Implement electrical wiring best practices
  • Identify electrical problems using a variety of testing devices and implement corrective actions
  • Perform general electrical maintenance

What You Bring

  • Completion of electrician apprenticeship and hands-on professional experience working as an electrician (Master Electrician License or Electrical Contractor License highly desired)
  • Experience with industrial scale electrical wiring, including 240 and 480V, and 3 phase applications, such as VFDs
  • Working knowledge of the National Electrical Code and state and local building regulations
  • Experience wiring electrical panels following NEC Article 409 or UL 508 (Industrial Control Panels) (preferred)
  • Ability to perform simple electrical design work and develop one- and three-line diagrams (preferred)
  • Experience in the agricultural produce industry, such as packing houses (preferred)
  • Spanish fluency (preferred)
  • Willingness to occasionally travel domestically and internationally
  • A safety-oriented mindset and willingness to prioritize a safe working environment
