We are seeking a Director of DevOps to manage our cloud infrastructure and to collaborate with our lead developers, architects, and product owners to automate the management and uptime of our development and production environments. The ideal candidate is a self-starter, able to drive tasks to completion independently, and able to learn new skills on the job as project requirements expand. This candidate should possess a technical understanding of DevOps technologies, be highly results driven with a sense of urgency and have a collaborative approach to problem-solving. This role reports into the CTO.

Responsibilities:

• Manage our cloud infrastructure, the services, and the security, along with the availability of those systems and services.
• Relentlessly drive improvements to the software development and deployment process of our proprietary applications and services.
• Provide guidance on platform solutions and best practice to our product engineering team and drive efficiency.
• Manage, mentor, and grow a team responsible for the 24/7 uptime of all of our customer-facing systems.
• Manage a team and work closely with the lead developers, architects, product owners, customer and service delivery teams to understand the priorities and problems to create a roadmap to ensure world-class uptime and development environments.

Qualifications:

• Proven ability to hire, lead, and mentor a global team of technical resources

• 5-8 years as a Senior or Lead DevOps Engineer and Production System Manager

• Managing incident process, escalation, root cause analysis and mitigation

• AWS/Google Cloud Fully Versed

• Demonstrated understanding of DevOps technologies and methodologies

• CICD: Jenkins, Maven, TeamCity, Composer, Scrutinizer-CI, Travis, Nexus

• Systems / DB: Elastic, MySQL, Postgres, HBase/Phoenix, Spark, MongoDB, Redis, RabbitMQ, ZooKeeper

• Understanding and implementation of security policies

• Configuration management tools such as Chef, Puppet, Salt, or Ansible

• Provisioning and procurement tools such as HashiCorp’s Terraform

• Kubernetes

• Knowledge of software architectures such as Microservices & Service-Oriented Architecture

• Experience with agile software development methodologies like Kanban or Scrum

• Expertise in leading teams in troubleshooting distributed systems

• Strong analytical and reasoning abilities to drive operational metrics and capacity planning
