Job Summary:
We are a highly distributed e-commerce company with several different in-house developed systems that deal with the huge volume of data flowing throughout the system. We are looking for a DevOps Engineer to work closely with more than a dozen development teams teams advising them how to best configure their production deployments as well as enforcing best practices and security. We support a 24/7 billion dollar eCommerce website that is hosted around the world in multiple cloud data centers, across several cloud providers and a few dozen containerized applications. From automation to deployment and monitoring, we use the best tools for the job, and constantly evaluate and innovate with world-class technology. You won't be stuck in a dark room writing code all day, you will be talking to developers, troubleshooting issues, building and managing all things container and always working in the cloud.
About You:
- You have at least 5-7 years of experience working in Software Development
- You have at least an Associate Degree in Computer Science or related fields
- You have the ability and desire to learn and support new systems and applications
- You have the ability and desire to work with high traffic websites, update, monitoring, and maintenance strategies
- You have the ability to work longer hours when necessary to deliver products and features on tight deadlines
- You have the ability to support on-call duties for 2-week rotations
- You are skilled in organizing resources and establishing priorities in a SCRUM environment
- You have excellent verbal and written communication skills
Key Qualifications:
- Extensive hands-on experience with containerization and orchestration (Docker & Kubernetes preferred)
- Hands-on experience with configuration management and automation (Ansible, Terraform & Helm a plus)
- Strong knowledge of Linux/Unix Operating Systems, including but not limited to RHEL, Ubuntu, and CentOS.
- Working knowledge of Windows Server and various Microsoft Services
- Working knowledge of applications servers like SOLR, Redis, Elasticsearch, Istio, RabbitMQ
- Experience in building CI/CD stack (Jenkins a plus) and managing Git code repositories
- Strong knowledge of HTTPS Protocol, IP Routing, DNS, REST, Load Balancing
- Experience writing shell scripts, Python and other scripting languages
- Experience in working with tradition infrastructure and services such as VMWare, Apache/IIS, GTM, DNS, CDN is a plus
