Job Summary:
The Cloud Solution Architect- Data Platform will be an inspiring technical leader one step ahead of the industry that will be in charge of building a data platform that is more scalable, more reliable and powers our diverse business needs. The Cloud Solution Architect should be familiar with Amazon Web Services, Google Cloud Platform as well as other cloud service providers. This candidate should have Strong Data Modeling skills including experience with large analytical models, elegant transactional models, and the properties about them you wish you could go back and change from lessons learned.
Job Expectations:
Drive and define an end-to-end data architecture, vision and strategy to maximize the utility of public and private clouds, as well as enterprise data assets.
Develop technical specifications for data integration and data model; deliver design documents for projects enforcing best practice and automation; Define standards to support data quality, CI/CD automation, scalability and continuous operational excellence.
Define patterns for real-time and scheduled data integrations implementing the best practice of cloud and hybrid data integration with security and low latency as a focus;
Understand the challenges of a persistent layer in a distributed environment and lead the demand of agility and data quality to build a long, maintainable data ecosystem with consistency, availability and scalability;
identify bottlenecks in data processes and come up with best-in-class automated solutions;
Communicate and evangelize data architectures with engineering team and business partners;
Train and mentor engineering team on topics related to data architecture.
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
Required:
Curiosity about everything data whether a globally replicated db (Spanner, Aurora), thousands of transactions per second utilizing in-memory tables or Columnstore tables, experience with datasets/rows exceeding billions of records.
Understanding of Industry Standards and Best Practices( ITIL, TOGAF, Etc.)
Deep knowledge of database development build, deployment, continuous integration and data modeling
SQL Database and SQL Server
Knowledge of Kubernetes, Big Query, Snowflake, Redshift, Spark, Kafka, Event and Streaming data, Timeseries
Understanding of ETL, ELT, Informatica, AWS Glue, Google Cloud Dataprep,Trifacta and other tools as use case dictates.
Data Virtualization experience a plus.
Experience Requirements:
Requires a minimum of 10 years of experience in Data Platform architecture
Education Requirements:
A Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science is highly preferred.
