Tinder is looking for an experienced Workplace Planning and Design Associate to work with an amazing team, as we grow and evolve our LA, PA and SF footprints. The ideal candidate is a highly motivated, team oriented, and meticulously organized individual with a strong interest and background in architectural design, interior design and workplace planning. As a Workplace Planning Associate, you’ll gain workplace management experience by providing support to our Workplace team. This is a full-time position that works closely with Facilities, Human Resources and Finance departments as we build plans for our future. 

Space Planning

  • Support Workplace Leads by creating reports on space utilization from various systems that collect data, update weekly headcount data, office capacity and forecasting. 
  • Facilitate meetings as needed, to plan and negotiate team moves with a strong ability to assess and prioritize functional needs. 
  • Create plan diagrams and presentations that illustrate complex moves. 
  • Ensure all people moves are planned for, managed and carried out seamlessly and effectively

Workplace Design

  • Support the Workplace Leads with the all design, workplace standards, furniture reconfigurations, and construction coordination. 
  • Address day-to-day requests and provide existing floor plan updates with regard to room configuration changes, furniture moves, desk and room designations.
  • Translate space planning and design needs based on user requirements into workplace scenarios. 
  • Prepare as-built plans, hypothetical space plans, and furniture layouts
  • Review construction drawings and design packets for adherence to Workplace design standards as well as project look & feel
  • Support the Workplace Leads on design and furniture scope for new build projects, as well as specialty projects at existing sites from beginning to completion
  • Work closely with the facility design team, project architect, project furniture vendor(s), and other technical teams to ensure projects are completed with efficiency, within the budget.
  • Provide support to the Workplace team to ensure that our projects progress on schedule and within budget. 
  • Support furniture procurement, installation, moves, asset inventory management, and updates.
  • Develop relationships and work closely with external vendors, consultants, and internal teams.
  • Support Workplace Leads with management of signage, graphics, and wayfinding programs and projects. 
  • Participate in team and project meetings, site visits, punch-list walkthroughs for moves or furniture, meeting vendors to provide access and oversight.

Other

  • Perform administrative duties including but not limited to: scheduling meetings, processing documentation, maintaining a consistent filing system for project documentation, etc.
  • Support other workplace team efforts as required and complete other tasks to be assigned as Tinder grows and you take on more responsibilities within the team. 
  • Support Workplace Leads on comms for management, internal teams, and project personnel and/or others; modify schedules or plans as required.
  • Contribute to design standards updates geared towards efficient planning with flexibility for future growth.
  • Actively engage in spatial planning and process streamlining for the Real Estate team. 
  • Demonstrate proficiency and attention to detail in the use and application of all space planning programs as required for assigned projects. 

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Architecture, Interior Design or other design related field
  • 3+ years of professional design experience
  • Experience in construction document preparation and field observation
  • Knowledge of building codes, zoning, building materials, specifications, and construction techniques
  • Proficient in SpaceIQ and Adobe Creative Suite (InDesign, Illustrator, Photoshop
