The Opportunity

At Rival we believe we can inspire the fan in everyone through design. As a UX/UI Designer on our Fan Experience team, you will be responsible for designing the current and future of ticketing and event day experiences. You’ll be part of a small team that is working on a ticket purchase experience that rewards real fans, not bots. We’re reshaping the game day experience that will bring to life the excitement of the actual game while alleviating game day nuisances. You will be expected to contribute to all aspects of design and execution, including pitching your ideas, designing the feature (visual design, interaction design, and prototyping), and partnering with engineering to implement your vision. Launch is just the beginning, as you’ll optimize the customer purchase flows to improve conversions across the board.

Responsibilities

• Design and prototype breathtaking experiences for fans of concerts and major sporting events
• Drive new projects, from concept to launch
• Contribute to all stages of the design process from user research to wireframes and shipping the product
• Work closely with Product Managers and Engineers to ensure the final product is of the highest quality
• User test and validate designs
• Follow user metrics and tirelessly optimize key flows
• Communicate design goals and specifications to the engineers
• Regularly give and receive feedback on design iterations
• Be a champion for the user

Requirements

• 5+ years experience designing and shipping mobile applications
• Track record of building and optimizing world-class commerce or consumer experiences
• Ability to prototype interactive mobile experiences
• Strong visual design skills and passion for interaction design
• Strong interpersonal and leadership skills
• Proficiency in Figma, Sketch, Adobe XD, or other design tools
• Ability to think at a high level about product strategy
• Excellent communication and presentation skills. You’ll be expected to clearly communicate design strategy to executives, the rest of the team, and to engineers
• Self-motivated attitude with the ability to work in a fast-paced, sometimes ambiguous work environment

Preferred Qualifications

• Prior experience in commerce and marketplace consumer products, and optimizing conversion funnels
• Online to offline user centered design
• Communicates interactions through software such as Principle, Framer, or After Effects
