We are looking for a Director, Design (Product/UX) to help us with our next phase of growth and to champion the creative cohesion of the Zest brand across product and customer lifecycles.

You are confident enough to share and sell your ideas, and perceptive enough to know when to encourage others to share theirs, with a passion for collaboration and mentorship. You thrive on combining analytical, data-driven analyses and decision-making with intuitive, emotional, inspiring design, providing holistic vision with an eye on business results. You are driven to make an awesome first impression and every impression thereafter a great one. You are eager to dive into a complex space and shape the way people see and hear our brand and product through design that attracts, inspires, and engages.

In this role you will:

  • Become the master of the Zest brand by developing our brand architecture and design language, establishing and promoting design guidelines, brand standards, style guides, templates, and more
  • Present and justify design rationale and key milestone deliverables to peers and stakeholders to infuse the Zest spirit, brand, and visual design language into design, product, and marketing teams for a shared design thinking methodology and culture
  • Define team processes that focus on end-to-end support of Zest’s marketing efforts, through research, strategy, execution, launch and beyond
  • Work closely with our partners in Marketing, Sales, Product, People Ops, and beyond to define and align our creative work with company-wide business initiatives
  • Maintain customer archetypes and user personas to ensure Zest teams understand the needs of our customers and their users
  • Evolve the Zest Brand by extending it to include a product, visual, interaction, and story centered design language and vision, identifying UX best practices
  • Champion a user-centered design process that focuses on the needs of the customer, overseeing and creating custom designs for the website and other digital products and designing visual interfaces, wireframes, user flows, and seamless interactions
  • Develop our team, helping them to build their design, presentation, and feedback skills. Provide creative direction and feedback based on process, craft, communication, and stakeholder management

We are looking for:

  • MFA, BFA, or BS in Interactive Design, Graphic Design, or equivalent experience
  • 7+ years of combined experience in mobile, product, graphic, interaction, or information design
  • Deep experience with all major platforms including desktop web, mobile web, iOS, Android, and others 
  • Extensive knowledge of screen layouts, UI flows, information design, typography, color, composition, production art, and various platform specs
  • Proficiency with industry-standard design and prototyping tools including Adobe Creative suite, Sketch and Invision and Digital Asset Management 
  • Must have a strong design foundation and be able to execute any phase of the design process (ex., analysis, UX/UI, concept testing and prototyping, launch and management)
  • Understand how to work collaboratively and navigate complex relationships throughout different parts of the organization with excellent communication, presentation, and interpersonal skills, including the ability to rationalize and defend design decisions
  • Business acumen to connect product design decisions and features to product marketing goals and customer acquisition strategies
  • Professional experience designing enterprise software products and creating a brand architecture, design language, and style guide 
  • This is a temporary role for 3 months duration
