Job Description Summary:

We are looking for a Learning Experience Design Manager to join our Global Talent Development team. We are forming a learning strategy that embeds a culture of continuous learning and creating a talented and expert Talent Development team to create the experience that supports the career development of all PayPal employees. The Learning Experience Design Manager will do this by:
• Building our organizational capability to rapidly design, create and curate digital content and develop learning journeys for enterprise, business unit, group and role-specific leadership and employee development.
• Providing our employees with easy access to high-quality, on-demand digital content, complemented by strategically blended programs that are developed internally.
• Creating social learning environments that make it easy for employees to build global knowledge networks, share their expertise and learn from each other.
• Creating custom content that reflects our culture, our values, and our brand.

 

Job Description:

You will work closely with global HR teammates and internal stakeholders to design effective, engaging learning and leadership development experiences that engage PayPal employees, guide them on their career journey and achieve measurable learning outcomes.

What you will be doing:

 

Consulting with business groups and their HR business partners to understand organizational performance goals, identify skills gaps and recommend customized learning solutions.

 

Using instructional design and learning experience design systematic processes to design and develop engaging learner experiences.

 

Recommending, curating and authoring content, sequence, and using a systems approach to suit situation and learners including face-to-face and virtual instruction, micro-learning, eLearning, podcast, social, print, and video.

 

Using existing learning and collaboration tools and platforms to design learner experiences that are simple, intuitive, and engaging.

 

Collaborating with subject matter experts (SMEs) within the business to develop PayPal specific content.

 

Partnering closely with our communications partners to develop written communications to use in internal marketing campaigns for a wide range of stakeholders that drive adoption of learning.

 

Partnering with our HR analytics team to use data and analytics to understand learner behavior and drive continuous improvement in our learning solutions.

 

Keeping current on new learning approaches, technologies and tools through research and networking to ensure our solutions are innovative. 

 

Working closely with our partners in Technology to fully maximize the programs, tools and technology that we have in place today, through a focused, strategic approach.

 

Building and developing a team of Learning Experience Designers who can leverage current technology solutions, establish learning design standards for the enterprise, help us transition from a vendor dependent content strategy and most importantly, help us build a culture of ongoing, enriching and engaging learning experiences.

 

Coordinating with our learning administrators to integrate learning solutions into our learning management system.

 

Skills Required:

  • Strong partnering, influencing and collaboration skills; able to build positive relationships with peers, internal stakeholders in the business groups and external providers.

  • Amazing creative skills in both design methodologies, approach to leveraging technology as well as visual design creativity to engage learners.

  • Strong communications skills, both written and verbal.

  • Flexible and adaptable to changing business needs and priorities.

  • Fluent in learning technologies and one or more major authoring tools, such as Articulate Storyline.

  • Strong project management skill set; experience with managing multiple streams of work with multiple clients simultaneously with success.

  • Must be a creative thinker with ability to bring innovative ideas to the team.

  • Solid understanding and proven application of adult learning principles, practices, and procedures of instructional design for digital modalities.

  • Able to work effectively with global, diverse, and remote team members.  A plus if you are multi-lingual (although not required).

  • Familiarity with leadership development principles, agile methodologies and design-thinking practices preferred.

  • Strong analytical skills.  Familiarity with user research methodologies preferred.

 

Qualifications:

  • BA/BS with 8 years of experience or MA/MS and 5 years of experience in related field – or equivalent experience with establishing outstanding and creative Learning experience design practices.

  • 4+ years of experience designing instruction for digital and in-classroom delivery, either synchronous or asynchronous, preferably in global technology companies

  • Demonstrated experience collaborating with HR professionals and internal stakeholders resulting in innovative and engaging learning experiences.

  • Superior writing skills, with ability to explain concepts in writing to a diverse audience.
