The OpenX User Experience Team delivers user-centered product designs that enable our customers and partners to effectively and efficiently maximize the value of our programmatic marketplaces.

We are looking for an amazing designer to join our team. As a Senior Interaction Designer, you will lead interaction design for projects, gather user and business requirements, and translate requirements into product solutions. You communicate thoughts and ideas in the form of maps, journeys, page designs, flows, and prototypes. You thrive on solving complex design challenges and advocating for the user at every turn.
Key Responsibilities

  • Collaborate with User Experience, Product, Technology and business stakeholders on requirements to design leading-edge products, that can also be efficiently implemented
  • For individual projects, lead interaction design and information architecture work, including gathering requirements and mapping the requirements into page flows and wireframes
  • Create and update wireframes, flows, information architecture, interactive prototypes and prepare interaction design and specification documents
  • Design solutions to scale and grow over time, as functionality and content matures, and as user requirements evolve
  • Contribute to libraries of standardized interaction patterns, components, style and user interface guides
  • Ensure that user requirements are carefully balanced relative to the technical constraints and business requirements
  • Support user experience research activities, assist with summarizing and presenting findings, and apply results of research to designs
  • For some projects, act as the User Experience Project Lead, manage the project schedule and manage approvals for User Experience team deliverables
  • Provide input and support for other members of the User Experience team pertaining to architecture, navigation, and interaction design
  • Contribute to the development of best practice standards and process improvements

Required Qualifications

  • A minimum of 5 years performing interaction design and information architecture for large-scale, corporate web sites and web applications, with an emphasis on functional design and content integration (navigational elements, images, and text)
  • A minimum of 2 years of B-to-B experience desired
  • Evidence of successful interaction design, including navigation, templates, and design patterns for complex applications
  • Proficiency in Sketch, Zeplin, Photoshop and other graphic design tools
  • Proficiency in Axure and other prototyping tools for creating page flows and wireframes
  • Proficiency in HTML, CSS, JavaScript/jQuery, ActionScript 3.
  • Excellent interaction design and visual composition skills
  • Familiarity with the limits and constraints of design for the web and across different browsers
  • Ability to integrate the requirements of different teams and business units and ability to negotiate to create a unified user experience
  • Experience with project management, including setting schedules and delivering to those schedules
  • BA/BS in Human-Computer Interaction, Design, Human Factors, or equivalent experience
  • Ability to provide direction, leadership and collaboration in the creative process from conception to final production
  • Extreme attention to detail and commitment to high-quality production standards
  • Must be proactive and innovative
  • Must be able to work in a team environment with an iterative design process
  • Must also provide links to portfolio or sample work history

Desired Characteristics 

  • Work experience in the online advertising tech industry
  • Experience in graphic design, interactive design, and/or video tutorials
  • Experience conducting user research
  • Experience working in an Agile/Scrum development process
  • Ability to rapidly learn and understand new systems
  • Self-starter with the ability to independently identify and act on areas of improvement
