You are a fearless designer with the ability to develop and implement conceptual ideas that inspire and influence fellow creatives across multiple disciplines.

This is a hands-on position for someone with demonstrated achievements in brand and retail excellence, who can successfully manage the balance between business, technology and design. We are looking for a creative who will help elevate Ring’s packaging and unboxing experiences to the next level.

You will work closely with our Creative Directors and the Design team, possessing the needed skills to translate business requirements into clear and consistent design direction for a physical environment. You are a person who has worked with large iconic brands, and can create unique, scalable concepts for retail and various customer touch points.

Responsibilities

• Support the creative development and execution of packaging design and the unboxing experience across all Ring owned properties. Research and understanding, business, marketing and customer insights to produce best-in-class customer experience.
• Develop solutions based on consumer insights. Manage workflow and approvals, present for review, secure executive buy-in and approval. Work with engineering, development and QA.
• Support relationship with suppliers, engaging in prototyping and support engineering efforts. Have insight and oversight into cost, production timelines and workback schedules.
• Help guide consumer feedback studies on packaging.
• Create concepts, sketches, graphics, and high-fidelity executions in support of point of sale, brand, and marketing campaigns.
• Understand and respond to performance data (metric tests, usability studies), and help steer the direction of future creative designs.
• Oversee routine and complex duties in the preparation of printed materials and packaging for press, working with vendors to verify proofs and confirm file accuracy.
• Meet all team deadlines and responsibilities, listen to others and value opinions, help team leader to meet goals.

Basic Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in a related design field
• 6+ years of design experience within in-house, design firm or agency environment with retail design expertise.
• Online portfolio reflecting extensive expertise in print, including: packaging systems, merchandising, and collateral
• 2D/3D graphic design experience
• 6+ years experience working with four-color printing process especially large format printing
• Experience with dieline creation and color, material and finish of paper products (corrugate, paper pulp, SBS)
• Expert knowledge in building out templated packaging systems in InDesign.

Preferred Qualifications

• Effective communicator and storyteller with the ability to find the best approach to verbally and visually communicate an idea and articulate it effectively to internal and external stakeholders.
• An understanding of all aspects of brand and marketing creative, including brand development, social, digital, advertising, retail/POS, media and environmental/experiential design.
• Demonstrated experience managing creative processes through external agencies, internal teams and freelancers.
• Excellent communication, presentation, and interpersonal skills with the ability to gracefully defend design decisions to executive management.
• Proficiency in tools for design, rendering and photography.
• A complete understanding of all visual communications including typography, layout, product/lifestyle photo direction and the ability to work with copywriting to create distinct communications for the Ring brand.
• Extensive experience leading the development of complex packaging programs from concept to production in a tiered pricing environment (good, better, best).
• Continuously look for improvements, going the extra mile to present a complete and polished finished product.
• Strong eye for product and lifestyle photography with excellent composition skills.
• Able to multitask. Complete projects on time and successfully by staying organized and efficient.
• Oversee routine and complex duties in the preparation of printed materials and packaging for press, working with vendors to verify proofs and confirm file accuracy.
