Swell is looking for a UX/UI Designer: someone who gets excited about turning a complex workflow into a simple user experience, and someone who is able to quickly articulate their design ideas clearly and precisely.
Once here, you will:
- Use both your visual design and UX skills to deliver on an exceptional user experience.
- Participate in rapid prototyping, testing designs with users and iterating on new and existing features.
- Work on product design, social media and marketing, social media design work as prioritized by the design, brand and growth and product teams.
- Support the design and development of usability testing plans, and provide recommendations based on test results.
- Explore and iterate on concepts until they meet the intersection of user desirability, technical feasibility, and business viability.
- Be flexible and open to participating in design efforts wherever they may be needed on the Swell team.
The ideal candidate:
- mid to senior Level: 5-7 years of design experience
- degree in Interaction design, graphic design or equivalent
- loves typography and layout design
- passionate about bringing projects from concept to completion
- champions the users’ point of view
- thrives in an entrepreneurial environment, blending creativity, community building and consumer empathy
- loves sprints, can whip up wireframes, and knows that testing prototypes is where the magic happens
- enjoys collaborating/pairing with product managers, developers and designers
- leads with empathy, integrity, and openness to learn – a person who welcomes candid feedback, and can constructively give it as well. We are building an amazing product and culture, so your attitude is just as important as your resume.
- financial fluency and a curiosity for social impact investing a plus
- enthusiasm for a range of design tools like Sketch App, Flinto, Invision, Creative Suite and good old fashioned pen and paper
- a basic understanding of HTML & CSS
