Joymode is challenging the idea of ownership.

Picture all the stuff in your life that sits in a closet, garage, or basement until the couple of times a year you need it. Instead of spending thousands more on stuff you rarely use, you can tap into the Joymode network of thousands of products. From paddle boards to power tools, Joymode has a ton of cool stuff at a fraction of the cost of buying.

We’re growing rapidly and looking for a UX / Product Designer who will help us build an intuitive and delightful customer-centered product for mobile and web.  Do you have a strong UX background in customer-facing products with demonstrated ability to harmonize high-level holistic reasoning with granular feature design across platforms? Can you build interactive designs that successfully lead a user through complex flows that look and feel great? Let’s talk.

You will be responsible for design at every step of the process, from flow docs, wireframes and prototypes, to high-fidelity mocks, redlines, and asset building. You should have a good grasp of analytics, usability testing, and split testing, and you’re always looking for ways to iterate and make things better. At the same time, you know how to prioritize tasks to get the most value for our customers, and can collaborate and lead a project effectively.

You'll need a solid background in mobile design since that will be your focus. But you should be ready to grow with us and take control of larger-scale projects of all kinds. Our team is looking to move our customer experience to the next level, and we want someone with blue sky vision who can produce work to get us there.

Basic qualifications:

  • An online portfolio or work samples demonstrating relevant experience crafting user-centered design solutions.
  • 5+ years of experience as a UX designer, product designer, interaction designer or similar UX-related role
  • 3+ years of experience working in the mobile space, with a deep knowledge of Apple iOS guidelines
  • Demonstrated visual design expertise with a bias towards simplification
  • Knowledge of UX principles and techniques, best practices, and UI patterns
  • Experience collaborating with software developers, product managers, and other designers
  • The ability to handle ambiguity and self-direct when needed

Bonus qualifications:

  • Experience developing detailed prototypes
  • Some fluency in HTML, JavaScript, and CSS
  • Bachelor’s degree in interaction design, HCI, or related UX field
  • Solid written and verbal communication skills
  • Experience conducting usability studies and performing/gathering user research

We are an equal opportunity employer and value diversity at our company. We do not discriminate on the basis of race, religion, color, national origin, gender, sexual orientation, age, marital status, veteran status, or disability status.
