The Edge Academy is The Trade Desk’s education resource for marketers, buyers and academia to be inspired by the future of digital marketing and current industry topics. We develop video and written content for our target audiences.

WHAT YOU'LL DO:

The Trade Desk Edge is looking for a seasoned Video Editor/Motion Graphics Animator to support the editing and animation of our educational video content. Ideally, this person also has experience in studio shoots and has the ability to be the videographer for smaller shoots when needed. He/she will support pre- and post-production media projects ranging from Edge video content, Edge social content, in-office filming, filming for smaller shoots as well as assisting on promotional video needs for Edge campaigns with TTD’s Creative Shop.

In this role, you will:

  • Lead the editing of Edge video projects from ingestion of raw footage to final deliverables, while collaborating with Edge and marketing teams throughout the process (from concept to completed video)
  • Work in partnership with Art Director, Edge Academy to provide creative input on initial scripts throughout post-production
  • Collaborate with producers, writers and others to identify video solutions that achieve business objectives
  • Ability to film with rented equipment when needed – planning, renting the appropriate equipment, filming and editing the videos. This might be in studio, in the office or on location.
  • Ability to advise on the footage needed to keep content interesting and engaging
  • Post-Production: color grading, sound design and mixing, encoding, mastering, archiving, etc.
  • Select the most effective shot of a scene in terms of look, relevance or continuity
  • Edit footage according to tight scripts and storyboards or candid content captured on-set
  • Review content for accuracy and evaluate, edit and cut footage ensuring final version communicates information as planned.
  • Cutdown longer form content into short-form social videos and testimonials as needed
  • Work with Creative Operations to archive footage in DAM at the wrap of each project
  • Responsible for delivering the final product to the required specifications
  • Maintain all editing equipment, troubleshoots problems, and actively facilitates repairs/upgrades with IT
  • Maintain proper file structure and approach allowing for future edits/adaptations
  • Possess a strong attention to detail and demonstrate ability to manage multiple projects concurrently, prioritize workflow, and meet time sensitive deadlines
  • Be curious, love learning new techniques and testing new hypotheses
  • Be able to present and articulate ideas and concept proposals to leadership
  • Keep track of inspiring educational video content and continuously present new ideas to team to keep content fresh and innovative
  • Be involved in recruiting and hiring additional Edge editors, as needed
  • Research and implement new editing technologies and industry best practices to maximize efficiency

WHAT YOU'LL BRING:

  • 8-10 years of experience and/or training and highly skilled in digital editing systems (preferred agency or in-house brand experience)
  • BA/BFA/BS degree or equivalent practical experience
  • Solid experience with digital technology and video editing systems including, but not limited to AfterEffects, Premiere, Final Cut, Animate, SpeedGrade and related plug-ins and enhancement packages
  • Experience compressing and preparing videos for various usage.
  • Experience working in Adobe Creative Suite Software (Illustrator, Photoshop, etc.)
  • Must demonstrate sophisticated aesthetic, technical skill, and knowledge of current media trends
  • Exceptional verbal and written communications skills
  • Creative mind and storytelling skills.
  • Thorough knowledge of timing, motivation, and continuity.
  • Intellectual curiosity to learn all things programmatic and the nuances of the advertising technology industry
  • Demonstrated ability to think strategically about complex issues, leading to thoughtful recommendations, action plans, and results
  • Relationship builder with excellent collaboration skills who can reach out across internal team and external vendor
  • Self-starter with a “let's roll up our sleeves and get it done” attitude
  • Strength in building relationships across internal team and external vendors

  • Strong reel or body of work.
  • Travel may be required for work events.
  • Experience in the advertising technology space preferred
  • Experience in B2B marketing preferred
  • Must be located in LA
