The Junior Visual Designer works closely with the Associate Creative Director, Senior Visual Designer and the Digital Manager to work on the various digital products and digital communication assets. The Junior Visual Designer must be able to execute projects within the established guidelines.

The Junior Visual Designer should have the ability to execute projects from design to code. The Junior Visual Designer finds creative solutions to visual communication challenges, supports the company’s creative goals and is a team player. They will be working in a WordPress environment and should poses the skill sets to work in HTML, CSS & JavaScript. They may be asked to debug code on the existing template or make new arrangements in functionality based on marketing needs.

Responsibilities Include: 

• Work along with the Visual Designer to assist the creative and digital team.
• Design and creation of web properties
• Update/modify existing pages inside WordPress, as well as create new pages using established design guidelines and code.
• Ability to create new pages based on wireframes with minimal direction. This includes finding/creating images to go with the text for a new page, as well as write new CSS/JavaScript as needed.
• Take design comps and create the asset in code. There will be cases where mobile design is not given and will be finished by the Junior Visual Designer.
• Work in 3^rd party apps that are part of the Laserfiche tech stack.
• Follow brand guidelines to keep the brand consistent.
• Stay up to date with industry trends.

What You'll Need:

• Associate degree in web design and web development related field and above.
• 2+ years of related experience.
• Proficient understanding of web markup, including HTML5, CSS3 and JavaScript. PHP knowledge is a huge plus.        
• Should have experience in WordPress development. Being able to make a WordPress template from scratch is a huge plus.
• Have a good design eye, and the skillsets to fine-tune the details in code.
• Design skillset is preferred but will be working with established conventions.
• Proficiency in Adobe suite related to web production.
• Willing to learn and receive feedback via creative critiques.
