What You’ll Do

We are seeking a seasoned ad Art Director to be an integral part of a special creative team committed to developing compelling stories of brands -- connecting with its unique audience -- from concept to digital ads to brand-tone messaging templates. This position will work in unison with a copywriter and creative director to create powerful ideas and messaging that brings a brand to life. Because you are a student of the human condition and a gifted thinker, you will bring insight and highlight humanity in a unique and sometimes unexpected way to capture and inspire consumers (visually as well as narratively, at times). You have a healthy appetite for finding that special spark or twist of imagination to engage an audience.

The Art Director will be responsible for:

  • Digest key strategy documents from research summaries to brand positioning to creative briefs

  • Effectively and efficiently translate brand and marketing strategy into ideas and concepts presented in layouts, comps, storyboards, wireframes, and ad campaigns

  • Collaborate on and ideate around compelling, inspiring, emotive messages that are on brand tone, voice, appearance and experience

  • Meet with a copywriter to develop concepts

  • Stay current with award-winning work

  • Create messaging (in look and feel) that can transcend from a website or digital advertising campaign to other facets of the digital landscape

  • Create work that drives consumer engagement and wins industry acknowledgment

  • Always pushing yourself and teammates to do breakthrough work and trying not to do the same stuff every time

  • Instruct or work cross departmentally with designers to execute the vision

  • Create and maintain (or oversee) the visual look for all work on an account, making sure the client's marketing materials are visually engaging and that the selling message is clear

Pay: Salary + Bonuses

Experience:

What You’ll Need

  • 5+ years of professional design experience or ad agency experience

  • 3+ years experience with Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign, XD in a professional capacity

  • Strong understanding of the digital landscape and what works and what doesn’t

  • Ability to translate marketing strategy into persuasive layouts, logos, and other designs

  • Some past award-winning work (preferably in digital channels)

  • Consumer and BtoB brand experience

  • Experience working with tight deadlines and challenging clients

  • Excellent presentation skills to convey ideas and concepts (visually) with ample experience

  • Ability to absorb and apply constructive criticism from peers and client

  • A sense of humor and ability to inspire those around you

  • Affinity for teamwork

  • Strong ideation skills
