Swell is an impact investing platform that helps people invest in high-growth companies solving global challenges. We are a passionate team of 27 (and counting) building a new and more human approach to personal investing.

We’re looking for a hands on Art Director. Someone who gets just as excited about concepting as taking an idea to production.

Once here, you will:

• play a role in building marketing and advertising initiatives that humanize Swell, build credibility and engage our community of investors

• create design solutions across multiple media including video, social, email, blog, digital paid advertising and print

• participate in rapid prototyping, testing designs with users and iterating on new and existing designs

• participate in user research sessions

• explore and iterate on concepts until they meet the intersection of user desirability, technical feasibility, and business viability

• collaborate with a cross functional team of designers, writers, marketers and strategists to create a holistic product experience

• be flexible and open to participating in design efforts wherever they may be needed across our marketing, design and product teams

The ideal candidate:

• 3 - 5 years of agency experience

• degree in art direction, graphic design or equivalent

• strong portfolio and elevated sense of design, color and typography

• experience in concept ideation and design strategy

• enthusiasm for applying analytical data to creative choices

• experience collaborating with photographers, videographers and other creative freelancers

• passionate about bringing projects from concept to completion

• understand the value of design and brand within a business context

• able to self project manage and deliver excellent design solutions

• champions the users’ point of view

• thrives in an entrepreneurial environment, blending creativity, community building and consumer empathy

• enjoys interdisciplinary collaboration (copy writers, designers, product managers, marketers, strategists)

• leads with empathy, integrity, and openness to learn – a person who welcomes candid feedback, and can constructively give it as well. We are building an amazing product and culture, so your attitude is just as important as your resume

• financial fluency and a curiosity for social impact investing a plus

• Interest in data and analytics

• enthusiasm for a range of design tools like Sketch, Flinto, Invision, Creative Suite and good old fashioned pen and paper
