About Spring Labs:

Spring Labs is transforming that way that data is shared through the creation of the Spring Protocol -- a blockchain-based protocol that enables the creation of data marketplaces to facilitate the sharing of private & secure information. The first use case for the Spring Protocol is the creation of a data marketplace for consumer credit and identity data, effectively disrupting the existing bureau system and building a more transparent, fair, secure, and cost-effective solution for both consumers and banks/lenders.

To-date, Spring Labs has raised $15.8mm in seed funding from some of the top VCs and blockchain funds in the world, including August Capital, Pritzker Group, Jump Capital, Multicoin Capital, and Wavemaker Genesis.

If you're someone who wants to work at the bleeding edge of nascent technology, push yourself and collaborate with a resourceful and highly-motivated team, and strive to build a more secure, open, and transparent world of data sharing, then we would love to hear from you!

About the Strategy and Operations Associate Role:

We’re looking for an analytical, inventive, and resourceful self-starter to join Spring Labs in a function that’s very critical to the day-to-day business operations and growth strategy of the company.

In a typical day, the Strategy and Operations Associate may work on a variety of tasks such as understanding new markets and devising go-to-market product and business development strategies, building presentations to convey the value of the Spring Protocol to the world’s largest financial institutions, and improving internal modeling and reporting processes to better understand the growth trajectory of the business.

The right candidate for this role is self-motivated, highly analytical, and comfortable working on tight timelines. You should be highly-capable of completed focused, analytical projects behind a laptop screen, as well as presenting findings to decision makers with excellent interpersonal and relationship-building skills. You are comfortable as a generalist who can handle different types of tasks that involve varying degrees of initial clarity.

Responsibilities

  • Research - Conduct both quantitative and qualitative research to understand new, unfamiliar business sectors through a combination of online research and conversations with subject matter experts.
  • Create - create presentations, spreadsheets, and other strategic materials to distill a deep understanding of Spring Labs’ business and value propositions into clear, concise, digestible materials.
  • Analyze - work with all classifications of data (financial, marketing, product, research, etc.) to find impactful insights and drive data-driven business recommendations.
  • Collaborate - work with cross-functional groups within or outside of Spring Labs to serve as owner of new initiatives or project requests, handling scoping, prioritization, and delivery
  • Communicate - know how to effectively communicate status, successes, delays, and insights about ongoing initiatives to key stakeholders to drive transparency and prevent miscommunication

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's Degree, preferably in a quantitative field (engineering, math, finance, etc.) from a tier-1 school or a background in economics/econometrics with experience understanding and modeling complex, unstructured economic problems
  • 2-5 years of experience in a competitive field (preferably technology, banking, management consulting, or private equity)
  • Track record of strong performance: Leading mission-critical initiatives, hitting goals, succeeding in a team environment

Additional Qualifications (Preferred, Not Required)

  • Familiarity with additional programming languages such as Python, Ruby, R, etc.
  • Exposure to Tableau, Looker, PowerBI, or similar tool
  • Knowledge of Salesforce platform and/or other enterprise systems

Spring Labs Core Values

  • "Everyone is a Founder"
  • Operate with Integrity
  • Work Hard
  • The Best Ideas Win/No Ego

About You

  • Self-starter – You don’t like to sit and wait for instruction, but instead find ways to add value in a fast-paced work environment
  • Problem solver – Things aren’t always straightforward in an early-stage startup. You can take intent, rather than direction, and transform it into polished work
  • Accountable - You feel comfortable owning the outcome of your projects and set milestones and metrics accordingly
  • Entrepreneurial – You want to contribute to the success of the company and feel personally-committed to shape its vision and direction
  • Generalist – You seek exposure to different types of problems and feel enjoy switching gears and handling work that spans the business
  • Gritty – You love diving headfirst into complex problems and will do whatever it takes to make things successful
  • Communicator – You can present findings, gather information, build relationships, and work effectively with people, both inside and outside the organization
