Our Research team is responsible for shaping our understanding of effective digital learning experiences by conducting research studies and gathering insights on the relationship between the digital learning environment and student outcomes. In collaboration with our Partnerships, Data Science, Engineering, Design, and Product Management team, we design and execute rigorous studies collecting and analyzing quantitative and qualitative data and publishing results. 

As a Senior Research Associate, you will accelerate our discovery of new findings by designing and executing Research studies that enhance our understanding of the relationship between the digital learning experience and student outcomes. GoGuardian’s Senior Research Associate is someone who is passionate about creating transformational digital learning experiences, values the voice of students and educators, and is eager to see the findings of their research applied to create tangible impact on the world. What You'll Do

• Developing research studies to answer key questions about the impact of the digital learning environment on student outcomes 
• Executing multiple mixed-method research studies simultaneously 
• Designing and implementing quantitative and qualitative data collection through a variety of mechanisms including, but not limited to, surveys, assessments, field research, and digital interfaces
• Coordinating the operational requirements for executing research studies 
• Working with large data sets using SQL
• Conducting quantitative descriptive and inferential data analysis 
• Understanding our products and the value they bring to our customers
• Reporting findings to internal and external stakeholders
• Documenting the research process, presenting findings, and writing Research reports Identifying research study opportunities that align with the broader organizational needs
• Contributing to the design and development of scalable and efficient processes for this role and the Research Department overall

Who You Are

• Ability to build meaningful and trusting relationships across a diverse set of stakeholders
• Ability to understand the context and nuances that impact students, educators, and Districts
• Ability to collaborate and work cross-functionally to solve complex problems 
• Ability to analyze quantitative and qualitative data 
• Ability to navigate, mine, and manipulate data sets in Looker, SQL databases, and AWS data products 
• Ability to create compelling presentations and write rigorous Research reports
• Ability to design and implement qualitative and quantitative research methods
• Ability to easily switch between thinking creatively and analytically
• Ability to design studies of varying types including, but not limited to: literature reviews, randomized control trials, quasi-experiments, natural experiments, between groups studies and within-group studies
• Familiarity with a variety of pedagogical practices in K-12 education
• Familiarity with how machine learning can be applied to solve complex problems
• You have an undergraduate degree in a related field (e.g., Psychology, Behavioral Science, Sociology, Cognitive Science, Human Computer Interaction, Education, Communications)
• You have a Masters or Doctorate degree in a related field
• You have 7+ years of relevant work experience and at least 3 years of research experience
• You have designed research studies and conducted research through the entire research lifecycle
• You have experience implementing both qualitative and quantitative research methods
• You have worked with or in schools You have been exposed to a variety of learning technologies and their applications
• You have worked with data science teams and understand how data science can be used to analyze large data sets
