Director of Research & Insights

Headquartered in Los Angeles we identify top executives in the startup ecosystem across markets such as New York, Chicago, San Diego, Atlanta… and many more.
This is an exciting opportunity not only to map the startup landscape and the talent within it, but to also shape it. This role will help build on our robust research channels and proprietary data to develop best practices, define research strategies, and drive actionable insights.
You will be instrumental in making us faster, smarter and better as recruiters and experts in the startup community. You will help make us faster at gathering and evaluating data , smarter when sourcing, building and evaluating our databases. You will make us better by continuously gathering and applying the best data possible.
Key Responsibilities:
Turn data into insights
- Create data driven research and reports that combine our proprietary data with outside research to identify trends and break down the talent landscape within a search.
- Publish unique, insightful, and easily digested research for recruiting teams and clients
Improve processes & develop procedures based off of findings
Understand and develop future facing insights and analytics for top talent across all categories of startups
Build a robust research capability across the entire firm
Support recruiters with candidate & client facing data-driven deliverables
- Support recruiters with key reports and polished client deliverables
Develop, share and deliver presentations to clients on market trends, research strategies and available options.
Required Experience:
Ability to synthesize data and develop actionable, predictive insights and impactful conclusions.
Strong presentation/communication skills.
5+ years in a research or analysis role. Must be able to show domain knowledge.
Must be a startup / recruiting geek with a passion for everything related.
A high tolerance for ambiguity and change required. Some experience in a startup atmosphere is ideal.
Strong ability to keep an eye on the small things while managing multiple tasks within the big picture.
Expert skills in MS Excel and Powerpoint.
BA/BS required; relevant graduate degree is ideal.
