As the Principal Data Architect, you will be responsible for the data architecture that governs how our data is collected, stored, processed, integrated, and used. You will help build a data catalog, develop a scalable and reliable data warehouse, design data models that empower product/marketing/analytics, evaluate various internal and external sources, and ensure data quality. You need to be curious and passionate about data, and you will work closely with Engineering and Product teams to develop data-centric solutions.

Responsibilities:

• Architect and implement highly scalable, distributed, and automated data solutions
• Document architectures with detailed conceptual and logical diagrams
• Design systems that govern how data is collected, stored, processed, and integrated
• Analyze data and define requirements for data models, structures, and schemas
• Build a universal data catalog of data definitions, sources, mappings, and lineage
• Own database, data warehouse, and data lake solutions that are scalable, reliable, performant, cost-effective, and secure
• Design ETL processes that combine data from various sources for advanced processing 
• Mentor engineering teams in the proper implementation and scaling of data systems
• Partner with product, marketing, finance, and other teams to understand needs, gather requirements and guide the implementation of business-focused data collection and reporting systems
  

Requirements:

• A Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Electrical Engineering, or equivalent work experience
• 10+ years of experience with Data Architecture, Data Catalog, and Data Modeling
• 10+ years of experience with Data Warehousing and Data Engineering
• 5+ years of experience with ETL specifications and mappings 
• 3+ years of experience with BI, Marketing Analytics, and Web Analytics
• 3+ years of experience with Data Mining, Machine Learning, and Predictive Analytics
• Expert experience with AWS data technologies like S3, Redshift, EMR, Athena, etc.
• Expert experience with big-data technologies like Spark and Hadoop
• Expert experience with SQL
• Experience with Agile Development and Software Development Life-Cycle
• Experience with Data Governance, Data Quality, and Data Security controls
• Experience with consumer web applications and consumer behavior data
• Strong communication skills to effectively interact with various teams
• Preferred experience with Statistical Computing tools like R
• Preferred experience with BI and Data Visualization tools like Tableau and Looker
• Preferred experience in the public records space
• Preferred familiarity with industry-related regulations
