The Data team in Tinder is looking for a hardworking, passionate and self-motivated Engineering Manager who will primarily focus on our Data Platform building the best data infrastructure at scale!

In this role, you will:

• Develop, communicate, and evangelize the long-term vision and roadmap for data storage, ingestion, ETL, and retrieval in collaboration with Engineering Leadership
• Lead execution of team projects, organize team processes, and work with Team Leads to plan and achieve OKRs
• Cultivate a healthy and collaborative culture through being a role model demonstrating Tinder’s core values
• Mentor and guide the professional and technical development of your team members, including other managers and senior individual contributors
• Drive engineering excellence by participating in code reviews, technical designs, and voicing support for engineering best practices
• Be a strong voice across engineering, constantly uplifting engineering culture and improving engineering processes
• Strengthen the team by working with recruiting to identify and hire excellent engineering talent

We're looking for:

• 5+ years of experience in data platform and/or infrastructure
• 2+ years of people management experience
• Hands-on experience and understanding of AWS, data lakes, tools, and automation
• In-depth knowledge of Relational, NoSQL, and Big Data technologies
• Ability to work with complex production-quality software as well as fast-paced research-related projects
• Technical expertise in data infrastructure, cloud computing, storage systems, and distributed computing frameworks in multi-petabyte scale systems
• Knowledge of modern data infrastructure and frameworks like S3, DynamoDB, Kafka, ElasticSearch, Spark, EMR, Airflow, Flink, Databricks)
• Ability to motivate, instill a strong sense of ownership, and build a culture of accountability
• Ability to communicate highly technical problems and solutions at all levels
• Detailed understanding of procedures and processes in large/mid-size organizations
