WHO WE ARE LOOKING FOR:

The Director of Business Intelligence will oversee generation of business insights to identify growth opportunities and maximize operational efficiency for business teams in US West Coast and Asia regions. The individual in this role must have strong leadership competencies and the ability to shift context across the breadth of analytics efforts. They must be able to effectively coordinate large scale projects both ensuring quality and meeting critical timelines. The ability to collaborate with internal stakeholders and manage a variety of internal and external initiatives are important success factors. They must be adept at communicating complex information from an analytics, strategy and requirements perspective. S/he will lead the Business Intelligence squads in Ventura and Sydney to empower business teams with fact-based data analysis and dashboards to support strategic growth plans.

WHAT YOU WILL BE DOING:

  • Develop and lead a team of highly skilled data and BI analysts. Leverage prior experience in BI & Analytics techniques to develop the BI team’s skillsets.
  • Prioritize team’s efforts to align with strategic business priorities by highly disciplined valuation process to drive towards clear and important business objectives.
  • Lead the team in design and execution of BI deliverables.
  • Build strong cross functional relationships with various business stakeholders & technology teams.
  • Ensure key success metrics are identified and tracked to promote the team’s successes
  • Design and coordinate comprehensive analyses that promote timely actionable insights, empower decision making around customer experience for strategic growth and product development initiatives with insights and recommended course corrections.
  • Review historical performance, identify opportunities, deliver insights, and assess the impact of strategic initiatives that improve business profitability and eventually shareholder value.
  • Build analytical frameworks, analyzing complex data, and visualizing key business insights across different functions and leadership levels.
  • Lean on strong leadership and communication to drive cross-functional efforts in fast paced and complex organizations.
  • Provide thought-leadership with all matters related to BI & Analytics as a business partner.
  • Engage with external partners and attend events to leverage new data sources and tools and stay in touch with the evolution of tools for Big Data, Business Intelligence, and Real time analytics.
  • Provide subject matter expertise to support advanced analytics needs regarding data availability (internal & external), data infrastructure, BI and analytical tools.


WHAT YOU BRING TO THE TABLE:

  • Bachelor's Degree or 15+ years of work experience. Advanced degree in Engineering or Business preferred
  • Proven experience in building and leading BI &/or analytics teams that are recognized for their analytical excellence
  • Effectively engage, lead and influence senior leadership; Led successful initiatives, engaging teams and key stakeholders across business functions and all the way up the organizational ladder
  • Intellectually curious and have the hunger to proactively and independently identify the opportunities to drive the most impact for the business
  • Proven track record with demonstrated strategic thinking, formulation and planning skills to deliver against team commitments and work objectives. Strong track record of impactful contributions to the organization
  • Able to design, review, and optimize project plans, identify critical dependencies, sequencing and risks, and drive projects to success.
  • Financial acumen and business case proficiency, including scenario modeling and storyboarding. Hands-on experience building predictive models with statistical and datamining tools (e.g., R or Python)
  • Highly motivated with the ability to collaborate with individuals to foster a strong team environment. and strong negotiation skills
  • Aptitude to learn new technical subjects and emerging technologies and articulate their business implications
  • Excellent verbal and written communicator with effective presentation skills
