GoGuardian is looking for a motivated database architect/administrator to help plan, maintain, and constantly improve our data warehouse. This is an exciting opportunity to transform an entire company by working closely with business decision makers, scientists, analysts, and researchers. We need a candidate experienced in OLAP systems, ETL operations, dimensional modeling, and business intelligence processes interested in cooperating with engineers and analysts to build a highly performant BI-focused data warehouse.

Responsibilities:

• Partner with business intelligence analysts to identify important company data sources and participates in change management processes related to these data sources
• Develop overall dimensional model for the data warehouse 
• Develop reliable ETL processes to bring company data sources into an OLAP-focused data warehouse optimized for analytics and dashboarding
• Monitor performance and completion of ETL processes, constantly attempt to optimize and improve ETL operations
• Develop robust automated data quality and integrity tests, hunt down sources of data inaccuracies, develop solutions to ensure eliminate these problems
• Strive to optimize the performance and cost of all systems related to the data warehouse
• Ensure 99% uptime for data warehouse and scale warehouse systems as necessary to support demand and business growth
• Ensure all systems related to the data warehouse are secure and that database backup and redundancy best practices are followed
• Responsible for development and maintenance of company data dictionary as well as documentation of data warehousing architecture
• Work with Data Scientists and Business Intelligence Analysts to assess SQL jobs with an emphasis on optimization opportunities
• Partner with leadership in the company to help support data-driven decision making

Absolute Must Haves Before Applying:

• Bachelor’s Degree
• 5+ years experience with warehousing infrastructure and dimensional modeling
• Experience with Amazon Web Services, specifically Redshift, S3, and EMR
• Absolute rock-star SQL skills
• Command line expertise
• Experience with either Spark SQL, PySpark, or Scala
• Some experience with infrastructure as code (Terraform, Chef, Puppet)

Bonus Points if you also bring the following:

• Proficiency in Python and Scala
• Experience with SalesForce backend structures
• Experience with Tableau, Looker, PowerBI or other modern dashboarding tools
• Experience working with data scientists
• Docker experience
