Join our Engineering team as a Database Administrator for our online expense reporting and invoice management service. As part of the Operations team, you will be responsible for providing DBA support for the complete range of database environments, administration activities including monitoring and tuning, debugging, backup and recovery architecture, disaster recovery support, security definitions, release, and patchset application, capacity planning, standardization of activities and development support.

Our DBAs have a strong background in Computer Science with excellent verbal and written communication skills. They enjoy collaborating effectively across teams and has a team-first attitude. Our ideal candidate would be a motivated individual who is able to be a creative problem-solver, has great attention to detail, and also the ability to approach any task from many perspectives. What You'll Do

  • Assist support engineers troubleshooting database related issues
  • Escalate requests when necessary to Engineering for possible bug fixes
  • Plans, conduct and directs the analysis of business problems to be solved with automated systems
  • May contribute to the development, testing, evaluation or design of system or infrastructure architecture used throughout the IT solution set
  • Design, build and maintain databases and database objects
  • Collaborate to enhance business processes
  • Perform ongoing maintenance and Data integrity checks
  • Perform pre- and post-deployment checks, ensure fixes yield positive results
  • Create and maintain documentation for all database environments
  • Proactively monitor the database environment stability to ensure high availability
  • Assist developers in performance and tuning no/SQL
  • Conduct performance tests and ensure systems are scalable to support a large number of users and processes
  • Maintaining Linux hosts for the MySQL databases and other Operations tasks as defined by management

What We're Looking For

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or any technical field
  • At least 6 years' experience working with MySql and GOlang/Perl/Python/PHP/Bash or AWK
  • 2 years' experience working with MongoDB
  • At least one year of experience writing DDL/DML statements for a group of developers
  • Proficiency with common and complex SQL
  • Proactively increase skills and knowledge through various means.
  • Experienced in stored procedures and query tuning on high transaction systems
  • Comfortable working in a Linux and Windows environments
  • Experience in MySQL - Master/Slave architectures
  • Familiarity with Git
