Ring is looking for an amazing Database Administration Lead with the passion to drive the design, support, and scale out of mission-critical data services enabling the collection of large amounts of data in a fast and highly available manner.

What You’ll Do

• Work with engineering and business stakeholders to understand database requirements
• Help shape the rapidly growing data needs by evaluating and recommending the best relational and non-relational data stores
• Define, design, model, implement, and operate large, evolving, structured and unstructured data sets
• Work with the latest AWS database solutions for high performance and availability

Basic Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in a related field
• 5+ years of experience in Database Administration roles working in high traffic, fault tolerant, and highly available environments
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills
• Driven to find creative solutions for effectively handling large data sets accurately and expediently
• Extreme attention to detail
• Proven analytical and problem-solving abilities
• Passion for scaling data stores
• Strong understanding of relational and non-relational databases
• Proficient at querying structured and unstructured data sets
• Experience at SQL performance tuning

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience with PostgreSQL and MySQL
• Experience integrating NoSQL alongside RDBMS
• Experience with AWS
• - Amazon RDS
• - Amazon Aurora
• - Amazon DynamoDB
• - Amazon Athena
• - Amazon S3
• - Amazon Redshift
• Experience with database replication and sharing
• Experience with Internet of Things (IoT)
