Quibi’s data engineering team is seeking an experienced data engineer to design and build our state-of-the-art data ecosystem. Our team builds data pipelines, data models, and interfaces that enable data driven decisions across all aspects of Quibi. You will join a team of selfless experts who are able to operate independently, while also effectively collaborating and sharing knowledge. We can not wait for you to join the team!

What You'll Do:

• Build a brand-new data platform, warehouse, and pipelines

• Collaborate closely with engineering, business, analytics, and data science partners

• Design well architected solutions that are ready for massive scale as our data and business grows

• Contribute best-in-class distributed data processing techniques

What You'll Need:

• 5+ years experience in data engineering and data warehousing

• Significant experience with a number of the following technologies:

  • Distributed data processing - Spark, Apache Beam, Dataflow, Hadoop, etc

  • Data oriented software engineering - Scala, Java, Python, etc

  • Stream processing frameworks - Flink, Kafka, Pub/Sub, etc

  • MPP data warehousing - BigQuery, Snowflake, Redshift, etc

  • SQL and query performance tuning

• Able to collaborate with technical and non-technical partners

• Experience modeling data to enable extensive self-service access

• Experience with cloud computing services - GCP, AWS, etc

• Experience collaborating on projects and working efficiently as part of a team

• Love of owning a problem end to end

Nice-To-Haves:

• B.S. or M.S. Computer Science or Data Analytics / Engineering

• Expertise with core Computer Science fundamentals, including Object-Oriented programming, data structures, and algorithms

• Experience building analytics, dashboards, and metrics

• Experience as a technical lead
